MS Discipline Policy

Train up a child in the way he should go:
and when he is old, he will not depart from it. Proverbs 22:6

Our goal is to prepare students to stand firm in their faith in Jesus Christ, to be academically sound, and to be productive, responsible citizens at home, church and in our community. In order to carry out this goal we have developed the following discipline policies. Each classroom will have a set of posted class rules students are expected to follow.

Lunch Detention will be given if a student is tardy, not prepared for class, has missing homework, or broke the class rules. Lunch detention is on Tuesdays with Mrs. Barton. Lunch detention is used as a training tool to improve organization and is not for extreme behavior issues.

After three lunch detentions a student receives an infraction and after school detention.

After school detention, with an infraction, is given for problems with character issues: cheating, defiance, lack of respect, disobedience, and multiple smaller (lunch detention) issues. After school detention is on Thursdays.

In any detention a student may only sit quietly, looking straight ahead, and think. There may be no sleeping, working, or visiting.

On the third after school detention (infractions) a student receives a referral.

Repeated referrals can lead to in school suspension.

It is our desire to affirm those who are following class and school rules. As a result we will award students with quarterly certificates and an end of the year party at Boomers.
